Data Conversion
Data conversion for pension administration is a unique
challenge. Understanding your data and your plan rules requires
a very specialized expertise. We see many firms try to make your
data fit the product, and they miss the mark entirely. Your
plan rules drive your data requirements and not the other way
around.
Your system data needs are driven by your unique calculation
rules and how they are set up within your system. This is
dramatically different than Payroll or HR which usually present
far less variability between customers. Understanding your calc
system design is the starting point for pension data conversion.
It takes a very specific combination of functional and technical
experience to understand your plan rules, design your
calculation engine and then build the technical requirements for
your data conversion.
Similar to any enterprise software solution, the level of
automation depends directly on the quality of the data. That is
why we have been selected by customers to perform data
conversion from in-house solutions out to outsourcers, as well
as from legacy systems into the Oracle pension product.
